Dublin IT recruitment agency Solas IT Recruitment has raised €10,000 in donations to support the work of the Irish Kidney Association. The agency team set about raising funds and awareness of the charity to celebrate the recovery of their colleague John Egan, who received a life-changing kidney transplant one year ago.
The team challenged themselves and their supporters to walk 123 km in one month- the distance from Solas IT Recruitment’s Athlone office where John is based to their Dublin office. Colleagues, clients and recruitment candidates who have worked with John and the team joined in and soon they had reached their €10k goal.
Presenting Irish Kidney Association Chairman Eddie Flood and Secretary Cathy Smyth with a cheque for €10,000 last week, Operations Director of Solas IT Recruitment Miriam Murphy said, “This fundraising challenge was a personal one for us. John is a key member of our team and he has handled the last few years like a champion”.
