Data Engineer – Bedano (Switzerland)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team in Bedano (near Lugano). You will take the lead in managing and enhancing our enterprise-grade data management platform, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in key performance indicators (KPIs) that are vital to our clients’ service invoicing needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the operational functionality and ongoing maintenance of our financial data platform.
  • Design and optimize robust data structures, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Improve data loading processes to maximize system efficiency and reduce processing time.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance platform features using MS SQL, SSIS, and C#.
  • Ensure the platform is highly reliable, scalable, and capable of handling high volumes of data.
  • Implement data governance practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Document and share business and technical knowledge across teams to promote best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate the platform with other key enterprise systems.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Expertise in MS SQL, SSIS, and C#, with a proven track record of managing complex systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing scalable, secure, and reliable data architectures.
  • Knowledge of data governance best practices and familiarity with security tools (e.g., data masking, encryption).
  • Experience with compliance management tools and governance platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Ability to work closely with business teams to define and implement data solutions, particularly within financial systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently or lead small teams.
  • Fluent in Italian and/or English (German is a plus).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
